Tier 1 Global Mobile Operator
Mobile content was developed, tested and loaded on to mobile devices during the manufacturing process. This involved multiple developers, all major device manufacturers and a wide range of countries globally. The process had been in place for several years and was not optimised for the ever increasing complexities of both devices and content.
The objectives and success criteria for the process were reassessed and confirmed. Each part of the process was analysed and key stakeholders involved to gather feedback, ideas, strengths and weaknesses. Future device roadmaps were studied to identify opportunities and potential issues. New test criteria were designed to cater for future device capabilities and a new purchase UI was implemented with a clean modern graphical look and feel. New submission deadlines were introduced supported by strict self-testing requirements. Communications with developers and manufacturer stakeholders throughout the process review, change and re-launch ensured a smooth transition.
